Sahyadri Farms, India's leading Farmer Producer Company (FPC) in horticulture, has achieved significant financial success in the fiscal year 2022-23. The company reported a substantial turnover of ₹ 1,007 crores, demonstrating a remarkable 28 per cent growth compared to the previous year.
Vilas Shinde, the Chairman and Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms, shared this impressive financial update during the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company, which recently took place. The AGM saw the presence of around two thousand farmer members, directors, and company employees.
Situated in Mohadi, Nashik, Sahyadri Farms has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2012 when it had a turnover of ₹ 13 crores. Fast forward to March 2023, and the company has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing the ₹ 1,000 crore turnover mark. Additionally, Sahyadri Farms Has Promoted 48 Farmer Producer companies, each engaged in Specific Horticulture crop or Zone for Pre-harvest and Post-Harvest activities.
During the financial year, approximately 2,75,327 metric tons of produce originating from 40K acres of land, cultivated by 24.5 thousand affiliated farmers, were processed and exported. The revenue sources included ₹ 352 crore from exports & ₹.654 Cr from Domestic Markets, 53% of sales is from Fresh Category and 47% from Processed , agricultural inputs, other business activities, contributing to the impressive total turnover of ₹ 1,007 crore.
The company boasts a total share capital of ₹s 55.68 crores and reserves of ₹ 256.87 crores. Furthermore, Sahyadri Farms has invested in infrastructure assets worth ₹ 558 crores, and its growth has resulted in the creation of approximately 1300 full-time jobs and four thousand seasonal jobs. This achievement, crossing the ₹ 1,000 crore milestone, has instilled a sense of confidence and pride among its member farmers.
Sahyadri Farms is recognized as India's leading FPC in grape production and export, as well as tomato processing. Beyond these successes, Sahyadri Farms is also actively involved in the cultivation of pomegranates, bananas, mangoes, oranges, cashews, and sweetcorn.
