There is no dearth of talent amongst the youth in India. But, there is a shortfall in terms of necessary skills required to secure gainful employment. Rural India also suffers from a lack of a network of infrastructure and resources required to impart these skills to the youth of our nation residing in remote towns and villages. Hence, we decided to embark on a mission with TATA STRIVE.
Tata STRIVE is establishing skill development centres in cities like – Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Mohali. These centres will run multiple courses like: retail, FMCG, FPO, Agriculture Field Officer, in-store promoter, BPO, electrician, auto technician, hospitality and refresher training.
The mission is to develop capacity to train youth for gaining employment, entrepreneurship and community enterprise. The courses are oriented not only to impart skills for jobs but also provide necessary training to become entrepreneurs and come together to form community enterprises with ownership stakes.
We have already launched a pilot skilling programme for the youth in Nashik. A skills centre has been established at our premises in Mohadi, Nashik to impart the required skills.
